I’m coming to you again from the sunny beaches of Playa Mujeres in Cancun. I’m totally head over heels in love with this Bardot floral swimsuit and I bet you will be too. Especially when you find out that it’s only $19! (Not including any promotions the retailer might be having.)
Commonly known as “off the shoulder” the Bardot style (named after French actress Briggite Bardot) is a huge trend right now and you saw me wear my red bodysuit with a collarbone revealing neckline for the 4th of July. This will not be the last time either. It is a very feminine and flattering style. No matter the body type, everybody’s shoulders look good!
I love the vibrant print and the style of this Bardot floral swimsuit.
The open neckline also allows me to showcase a gorgeous necklace that I wrapped around to wear as a choker. This piece is courtesy of my Stella and Dot Stylist friend Desiree Ortman and it can be worn in multiple ways, including as a bracelet. You can find this Barrier Strand Bracelet/Necklace on Desiree’s page along with many other similarly versatile pieces.
And how fun is this wide brim hat!! I don’t like to expose my skin, especially my face, to the sun so if I’m at the beach or pool you will always find me wearing both sunscreen and a hat. I get excited when I find a cute style hat that makes wearing one a fashion statement and not a chore.
This year I experimented for the first time with wearing a light weight muslin type scarf as a sarong. I prefer it to a heavy beach dress in a resort setting. It is easy to pack a few of them without taking up too much space or weighing down your luggage. They provide just the right amount of coverage when you’re not going to be straying too far from the pool or beach. This one is from Target, it’s only $15 and comes in five fun colors.
