Have you ever been asked to describe your style? Trendy, classic, edgy, sporty? I don’t think we consciously pick one and stick to it when choosing our clothes. I think we simply gravitate towards certain items that can be identified as belonging to a single category.

I think I have a classic and simple style. I don’t tend to accessorize too much with jewelry (except for earrings – I feel naked without them!) If you see me with a necklace and bracelets, it was a conscious and somewhat forced effort on my part. And that kind of effort I reserve for dressing for a special occasion. But on a daily basis I stick to a simple formula – a top, a bottom, shoes and a bag. And in winter, I add a coat!
I have a confession to make – I have bought four coats since Christmas. In my defense I didn’t really have a proper classic wool coat and the after Christmas sales were hard to pass up. As I’ve said before, now is the time to shop for winter items. Retailers are having huge sales and I have included a promo for coats from Nordstrom at the bottom of this post.
I already showed you my classic trench coat and you caught a glimpse of my fur collar coat here and here. And you are currently viewing my other classic – a tailored camel coat. (I got another wool one in dark gray, pics coming soon)
I had wanted a camel coat for a while but I wanted it to have a simple traditional design without any frills, in a medium length. The longer length belted camel coats are very popular now but would have been very impractical for someone who spends so much time driving as I do. Unfortunately, this particular coat is currently sold out but I linked it anyway because I believe they get replenished periodically. So if you really want this one, keep an eye out for it. Otherwise, I have also linked a bunch of other ones similar in design, color and price point.
