It was love at first sight when I saw this dress from the Eva Mendes Collection at New York & Company. I will admit, NY&C is not a store I frequent often but that will change if the actress continues her collaboration. Eva has a very unique personal style which I love – accentuated femininity with a retro flair.
This dress embodies that style perfectly – soft color, a classic silhouette and feminine details. Ruffled sleeves, a wrap front with a tie waist. Just picture it with little white gloves and a pillbox hat with a veil.
I was inspired by the upcoming Mother’s Day holiday but I am convinced this dress and many others from the Eva Mendes Collection will be a great choice for any spring or summer event you might have – an outdoor wedding, graduations, or communions.
Here are some of my favorites dresses from the Eva Mendes Collection and more:
And even better, New York & Company are currently having a 50% off sale so all these dresses are under $50!
I suppose it’s no surprise that I love dressing up, duh! But this time I have an occasion to wear this dress. Mother’s Day is this Sunday and I heard that my husband and kiddos are taking me out for brunch. Let’s hope the weather cooperates. And you can see a little glimpse of my littlest one below as she doesn’t mind being in pictures with me … most of the time.
I wanted to share a few more thoughts on motherhood but my train of thought is kind of confused and lost. I have a lot to say, and yet nothing new. There’s a popular post out there saying don’t do things for your kids that they can do themselves. So they can grow up to be capable and independent. Then today I read an opposing view saying you should do things for your kids, like brushing your daughter’s hair. Even if they are fully capable of doing the task themselves, the joy that brings you both makes it all worthwhile.
In this day and age of blog posts and Facebook preachings, we are bombarded with prescriptive and contradictory advice. My advice is, do what feels right for you. Keep in mind, that might be exactly opposite from what the latest viral post recommends. Also remember that many of these posts are written with the express goal of attracting clicks (which translate into cash!) The titles are attention grabbing and the content is full of emotional triggers that prompt discussion and sharing.
I wish you all a wonderful Mother’s Day!
I am completely obsessed with this little bag. Read more about the Cult Gaia Arc Bag here.
