If you know me in person or have followed me and read my posts you are probably aware that I have been going through some health issues. I recently found out that I have a condition that required a somewhat immediate surgery. Even though the surgery was serious and the recovery painful, I’m doing way better than I expected. I am two weeks post op – fully functional day to day and off all painkillers.
Understandably, both my time and limited energy has been dedicated to my medical affairs and my blog writing has suffered. I intend to return fully to shooting and posting outfits in the near future. In the meantime, I have some items I can be a little bit excited about and that I was able to put together before my surgery.
I call this my new mom uniform. It is casual and easy to wear but it looks more intentional and put together than, let’s say, leggings and a sweater. I’m all about layering in the fall. Especially here in Maryland, October has had huge variations in temperature. The mornings start out chilly and by the afternoon it’s in the high 70’s and feels like summer. Having a light outer layer that can keep you warm and then be taken off is a life saver! Especially when it reveals a cute feminine camisole like this one from Express. I love these camis – they are very affordable and come in a bunch of colors.
But the work horse of these feminine fall layers is the cardigan. It’s available in two other (dark) colors but I just love that soft winter white! When it gets colder, I will just wear it over a long sleeve tee or a turtleneck.
