As much as I like to keep an eye on the current trends and enjoy buying new things, I have a few tried and true pieces in my closet that I have had for many years. This green peplum top is one of those old items. I have had it for probably 4 or 5 years now. That’s remarkable for me also because I like to regularly purge my closet. Very few things make it past a couple of seasons of wear. I either tire of the style or I wear them to death until they fall apart. Seriously!
This green peplum top is a special piece, very well made, with elaborate embroidery. An Anthropologie winner! I probably find occasion to wear it only once a year but I can’t bring myself to get rid of it because it is so unique and interesting. It’s like a piece of art! So it’s one of the few items that survive my regular closet purges.
People must think that I have a huge walk-in closet full of clothes, being a fashion blogger and all. I don’t! My closet is kind of average in size and it’s not bursting at the seams. I just get rid of things I am no longer excited about and one of the ways I do that is by selling them on Poshmark. If you are curious or interested, this is my Poshmark page.
For those not familiar with Poshmark, it’s an app that allows you to quickly and effortlessly list items from your closet by taking pictures of them with your phone and including a short description. The buyer pays for shipping and all the seller has to do is print and attach a prepaid label provided by Poshmark and drop off the package at the post office.
I haven’t added very many new pieces to my Poshmark sale closet but I intend to do a purge soon and I will then make an announcement in case you would like to check it out.
But back to my green peplum top! I pulled it out to take on vacation with me and pair with these black scallop shorts and yellow sandals. The shorts are also from a previous season but I have linked some similar alternatives below.
My Stella and Dot earrings were provided by my friend Desiree (find her page here!) Notice I only wore one of the Gita Tassel Earrings. On the other side I had an old coordinating black stud, also from Stella and Dot. Unfortunately my black hair mostly covered the mismatched earrings but take my word for it – it’s a trend that you should totally try! I also have on the Garland Fringe Necklace. It is one of their versatile 5 in 1 necklaces with multiple strands to create different looks.
