I am about to venture into brand new territory for this blog and would like to ask you to be patient with me as this type of photography requires an entirely different skill set. This will be my first home decor post and I hope that I will slowly expand this category with more content.
True to the primary focus of this blog I will mention my outfit details. I am lounging in this very casual and comfy jumpsuit from Old Navy. It is soft linen cotton blend and it’s a bit oversized on me (should have stuck with my normal size instead of sizing up) but it’s almost like the dress down version of the jumpsuit I wore here.
So without further ado, here are some snapshots of our home office with some relevant commentary. I have to disclose that this space is mostly used by my husband and I decorated it accordingly with a more masculine feel than any other space in our house.
I love this leather chair! It was my choice for a wedding anniversary gift many years ago. It is by Pottery Barn and is no longer available but their famous Manhattan Leather Armchair still is and is very similar.
Pretty much everything in this room is from Pottery Barn. I know that’s boring but it’s been a reliable place for me to shop for our house for many years now. Most of these pieces were purchased years ago before all of the online retailers came about.
I don’t like putting an area rug over a wall to wall carpet. But I get onboard rug layering when the bottom is a natural fiber rug and the top is a smaller statement making accent rug. Like when the top rug is a vintage find woven kilim style rug.
I like decorating my walls with family pictures. I believe that scale is important in making a statement and utilizing the large space. When it comes to wall hangings, my motto is “bigger is better!”
And that’s a wrap for my first room tour. I would love to hear your comments and/or questions. Let me know if this type of posts are interesting to you and if you’d like to see more!
