As much as I like to write about and wear a classic, feminine and dressy style, on a daily basis you will find me mostly in athlesure. I talked about my Lululemon addiction here, and the main reason I was attracted to this brand was the stylish design of their items not just the functionality and performance of their fabrics.
Lucky for me and other lovers of comfort, items that have traditionally been a part of strictly athletic outfits have now become trendy and fashionable. They can be paired with non athletic items – like jeans, skirts and dresses and they come in girly pastel colors.
So now when I go to the playground with my kids, I can still feel cool and stylish. Even though my husband was shocked I was putting on a form fitting dress to take the kids out, he agreed that adding the sneakers and the jacket made it more acceptable. Not that I have ever cared about scandalizing people by being overdressed. I always refer to Oscar Wilde’s saying – “You can never be overdressed or overeducated.”
Bomber jackets are a huge trend right now. I was lucky to find this one not only because of it’s design and color but also its Primaloft fill. That makes it very warm but also very packable (it came with a tiny bag to roll and pack inside – perfect for travel).
My Lululemon dress is from a few years ago but there’s currently a very similar one available and, bonus, it’s on sale for only $39!
I totally surprised myself going for athletic shoes that are not for working out. How could I pass up this classic style Adidas in pink!? The 80’s are making it back around on the wheel of fashion history and Adidas have relaunched some classic styles that gained popularity in the past year so. The original style is mostly associated with the white sneakers but for me this light pink is even better than white! They also come in burgundy and navy.
