One of the places I planned to visit on my trip to London was this so very cute and very pink pastry shop. It is tucked away from popular touristy areas and you wouldn’t really know of its existence if you didn’t pour over fashion blogger pictures like I do. It is adorable and charming and provides the perfect backdrop for those oh-so-candid pictures (wink).
Peggy Porschen Cakes are famous for their cupcake and cake designs as well as their Academy where they pass on their knowledge to eager bakers. In their Parlor, they offer a wide selection of cakes, teas and coffee, but mostly, an overload of cuteness and confection in pastel colors.
I find in situations like this, where the anticipation leading to the event has built up so much excitement, reaching the goal could be a bit anticlimactic. My memories from that morning are not only of sitting down and sharing a biscuit cake with my husband but of our walk through the quiet London neighborhoods we passed on our way. Having the time to notice the buildings and the omni present boxwood hedges, the colorful doors and clean stoops. That’s what I like to look at when I visit a new place. Yes, the sights and the spectacle, but also the hidden, local, every day life.
And as far as my outfit, it would be nice to say that I coordinated my pink Adidas sneakers with the pink background, but it wouldn’t be true. I wore these shoes because they were essential to a long day of walking while still being cute, because pink!
