caught my eye in Target a while ago. When I got it, I did not realize it was a dead ringer for a skirt from a slightly higher end brand. Even though it wasn’t my intention to show a dupe of a more expensive skirt, I am only pleased that I am able to do that. I got a lot of feedback from my readers who really appreciate this type of “splurge or save” posts.
Coincidentally, my entire outfit is made up of cheaper versions of more expensive options. This classic trench coat is a fraction of the price of the iconic Burberry trench. The sandals are dupes for the very popular Sam Edelman and Steve Madden ones.
This is the second pleated midi skirt I’ve added to my wardrobe lately. My first one is faux leather and I absolutely adore it. I wore it here, here, and here. This one is more light in both color and material which makes it perfect for spring and summer.
I love to pair the pleated midi skirts with high heels – pumps or sandals. But I can also picture it with flat sandals and a more casual top to make it every day appropriate. The fabric is very lightweight and sheer chiffon (no worries, it’s lined with a built-in slip).
This pleated midi skirt reminds me of my pink tulle skirt. I wore that one with a faux leather moto jacket here. I’m sure that same jacket will nicely complement the black stripes on this skirt.
