This is the first installment of a three part series dedicated to outfits inspired by the 4th of July theme of red white and blue.
I like selecting an outfit that relates to the theme of the event or the location I am attending. I know that many people love to decorate their houses and dress in a way that honors Independence Day and I’d like to offer you three ways to dress in the red white and blue theme without having to resort to wearing the American flag on your body.
The first is the most casual of the three outfits – a basic tee and denim skirt. Only the tee is not so basic as it is in fact a bodysuit. Bodysuits are a dominating trend currently and I’m all about the sleek silhouette they provide. No half tucked or peeking shirt hems! I found this one at Target and the ribbed texture of the fabric gives it a vintage 70’s vibe.
We all know that blue jeans are as American as back yard barbecue. A jean skirt is a perennial classic and I love the front button detail on this one.
These Soludos wedge espadrilles are also a classic style. They provide height and if you will be spending the 4th of July on a grassy terrain, the wedges are a preferred alternative to heels because they won’t sink in the grass.
This year my family and I will be away on vacation for the 4th of July so I am wearing my red white and blue as much as I can leading up to the holiday and embracing the tradition of having a juicy burger. And yes, my bright red lipstick was smeared all over my face after this:
