This is my third and final installment of a series of posts inspired by the 4th of July. You can read the other two here and here. This look also incorporates stripes courtesy of my favorite sailor style pants. Stripes are always a good idea, especially when they are white and navy, or black and white – my favorite combination!
The red in the theme is delivered in the form of a trio of summer trends. Can you guess what they are? OK, they are ruffles, off the shoulder, and bodysuit! Yes, ladies, the bodysuit of the 90’s is back. I never had one when I was a teenager but I am fixing that mistake 20 years later. This particular one was very hard for me to get my hands on as it keeps selling out. It comes in navy and blue and white stripes (of course) and I’m dying to get my hands on those other colors!
You might have noticed that I don’t usually do a whole lot of accessorizing for my outfits other than stud earrings and of course a handbag. But every once in a while I like to do the extra step and put that finishing touch with a statement piece that really completes the entire look. You’ve probably already guessed that the stars of this outfit (the title reveals it, duh!) are the Stella And Dot Gita Tassel Earrings. The shoulder revealing neckline of the bodysuit called for an attention grabbing accessory. I was lucky to have my pick of a number of gorgeous pieces. A friend of mine is a Stella&Dot Stylist and she let me come to her house and try on her jewelry so I could find the perfect complement to this outfit.
I had a wonderful time trying on jewelry, wearing the Stella And Dot Gita Tassel Earrings and shooting this outfit with Desiree. She was not only my stylist but also my photographer for the day and I am absolutely smitten with her talent. Unfortunately all good things must come to an end but I hope that this was only the first of many to come collaborations with Desiree!
