I have been loving wide leg, palazzo style pants lately. Just like this denim jumpsuit from a few posts back. But I have always had a weak spot for sailor pants and their cute buttons running down the sides. That detail is guaranteed to grab my attention and I love seeing it on other pieces as well – like skirts, shorts, or jumpsuits.
These striped sailor pants are from J.Crew and I remember buying a similar pair of shorts from there a few years ago. This silhouette elongates the legs and is very flattering. High heels (or platforms) are necessary because the pants are otherwise way too long. I wonder if the petite version will allow someone who is not petite to wear these pants with flats?
And isn’t the corset tie on the back just darling! I love when pieces have such eye catching details! I paired the striped sailor pants with this ballet back top from Old Navy – I loved it so much that I also got it in its striped versions.
Wide leg pants are a staple piece for any wardrobe. The buttons and stripes on these pants make them a playful option for spring and summer. I can’t wait to try them with a red top for some patriotic flare around 4th of July! For now, I opted for a small scale red stripe detail on my wedge espadrilles. It almost looks pink. I have linked some true red espadrilles below that would be perfect for this outfit.
