In Asian cultures the crane is a symbol of happiness and eternal youth, as well as good fortune and longevity. I was immediately attracted by the vibrant floral print and the grace of the birds in this Zara crane wrap blouse.
Some similar prints have popped up elsewhere in the fashion universe and have included a number of examples below. I think this trend rides on the coat tails of the Kimono wrap style that became so popular this year. My previous post featured this same wrap top in black. The wrap details creates dimension and the crane and flower print is bright, happy and playful.
My bottoms appear to be dress pants but they’re actually black jeans with a favorite detail – sailor buttons. I admit that I have a strong compulsion to buy pants with sailor buttons and I just couldn’t pass these up. The mid rise of the jeans lets them stay up without sliding. They have a good amount of stretch so they are comfortable and very flattering.
Even though the Zara crane wrap blouse is the focus of this post, it is the accessories that make an outfit appear more or less formal. I wore the same top but styled it with jeans, booties and a wool vest to create a more casual look. Any time I want to feel more dressed up or glamorous I just add my favorite hoop earrings and high heels! These d’Orsay pumps are my go-to because they have a classic style and are extremely comfortable.
