Halloween Decor – 2019

Halloween is probably my favorite holiday. It’s fun and light hearted with no pressure and no family obligations. Other than maybe doing some decorating around the house and helping the kids pick out their costumes. I’ve always enjoyed decorating for Halloween although I never go overboard. This year might be as close to overboard as I’ve ever gotten. Read on to see what Halloween decor I chose for the house.

The biggest impact came from the smallest objects – these 3D bats. They’re also very inexpensive and come in a sufficiently large quantity. I used them in the dining room as well as by the front door. Most of my decor is contained to these two spaces.
Of course the guest of honor of this Halloween Decor celebration is Mr. Bones. I got him a few years ago and he keeps making his appearance every Halloween. The kids love him and love to pose him throughout the house. He was a very worthwhile purchase.

Then I scattered some black birds and little mice. The birds are very natural looking and are made with real feathers. I am lucky to have Japanese maples in my back yard that provided the perfect color foliage for this display. My antique looking mirror covered with faux spider webs completes the spooky effect.

Do you know what my biggest real life fear is? Snakes! So naturally, I got three very realistic rubber snakes – just to scare the heck out of me when I find them in unexpected places. I have told the kids not to move them but of course they don’t listen.
