Neutral Aesthetic

There is nothing quite like a stunning design with layers of neutrals. This creates a sense of peace and tranquility often associated with a bedroom. Here is a bedroom design that will evoke that calmness you desire!

This room features walls adorned with the August Grove Dabrowski Check Wallpaper. It has a subtle check pattern in neutral tones, adding a touch of classic elegance without overwhelming the space. Read my neutral wallpaper post for more inspiration!

At the center of the design stands one of my favorite beds – the Joss & Main Tilly Upholstered Bed. It has a plush upholstered headboard in a soft white fabric, offering both comfort and a contemporary aesthetic. Find out the five reasons I love this bed!

Flanking the bed is the Birch Lane Colleen 2-Drawer Nightstand in a beautiful brown finish. The Union Rustic Juridia Ceramic Table Lamp features a textured ceramic base in earthy tones and a simple linen shade.

Grounding the space is the Amber Lewis x Loloi Alie Taupe/Dove Area Rug. This rug showcases a subtle pattern in taupe and dove gray hues, adding softness underfoot. To round out the decor, I chose the Santorini Solid Wood Bench, the Booth & Williams Modern Entertainment Decorative Books, and the Heijo Marble Decorative Bowl.

Grandmillenial

This style is usually created with a combination of bright colors in a way that makes a room feel rich. Paired with crisp white bed linens, this is the ultimate way to show off your preppy style.

Make a statement with the Birch Lane Knipe upholstered bed. The tufted headboard has a beautiful bold blue and white pattern. Finishing the bed’s look, a Joss & Main Deane bolster pillow adds a contemporary touch with its clean lines.

On either side of the bed, you’ll find Alcott Hill Damarye 2-drawer nightstands in a green finish. It is available in navy blue and white also. Topping the nightstands is a set of Rosdorf Park Henka 32″ antique gold table lamps with USB ports, blending functionality with antique elegance thanks to their gold-finished base and intricate design. The green Jardin Du Jouy Toile drapes are the quintessential grandmillenial style.

Above the bed, a metal wall mirror with bead detailing provides a decorative focal point, reflecting light and giving the room a sense of openness. On the nightstand, you can style a Malden gold bamboo picture frame to add a personalized and luxurious touch. The Bidkhome marble decorative bowl can be displayed on a dresser or side table.

The floor is covered with a Birch Lane Damask Jute Area Rug with a blue border trim. The best part? That scalloped edge, of course!

Coastal Classics

Having the opportunity to decorate our beach house has renewed my interest in coastal design. Creating a sophisticated coastal look is a breeze when you choose furniture and decor in colors that remind you of a day at the beach.

The sky-blue Joss & Main Zatanna upholstered low-profile platform bed sets the tone for this space and works so well in a coastal home. It has a contemporary feel that looks so beautiful with the woven details of the Birch Lane Ablo rectangular pillows and Birch Lane Warwick 2-drawer wicker nightstand which is available in several different colors!

Is a bedroom even coastal if it doesn’t have rattan? This room features the Longshore Tides round rattan mirror and the Beachcrest Home Bocanegra rattan table lamp which exudes the right style.

Decorative accents include a Sand & Stable ceramic shell figurine perfect for a dresser or shelf and a Beachcrest Home Aquilar grape wood vine sculpture which adds a unique and sculptural organic element to the decor.

For window treatments, the Eastern Accents Maritime solid room darkening rod pocket single curtain panels with a soft blue trim provide privacy while reinforcing the coastal palette with their rich, nautical tones.

Grounding the room is an Erin Gates by Momeni Orchard Bloom hand-woven wool and jute area rug. Its natural fibers and block print pattern make this a popular pick for decorating enthusiasts.

Minimalist

If you prefer the minimalist style, designing a bedroom will be simple. Furniture with clean lines and sleek decor pieces will get you exactly the look you want. Minimalism is typically related to modern styles, but you can incorporate any style you want – just use less of it.

The Mercury Row Henline solid wood platform spindle bed is at the center of the room, featuring a low profile to enhance the minimalist aesthetic. Next to it, you’ll find the Pecor 1-Drawer Nightstands that have simple lines and provide necessary storage.

The Latitude Run touch dimmable industrial metal desk lamp provides practicality and style. Its modern industrial design complements the minimalist theme while offering convenient features like built-in USB and AC outlets, keeping the room functional without unnecessary clutter.

On the wall is a curated arrangement of simple frames from the Ebern Designs Gallery wall wood frame set. The simple black frames house art or photos, creating a personalized touch while adhering to the room’s minimalist principles of simplicity.

Grounding the room is the Birch Lane Elle handmade light grey and ivory rug, a handwoven piece that brings texture without overpowering the space. Its soft tones of light grey and ivory add just enough warmth to the room, keeping the color palette neutral and cohesive.

Transitional Trends

If you like traditional classics and the latest trends, this is likely the interior design style category you fall into. For example, I gravitate toward timeless elements like hardwood floors and marble countertops, but I also add small doses of the latest decorating trends to keep my home looking up to date.

Again, this design has the Joss & Main Tilly upholstered bed featured in Talc linen. It goes with anything!

Beside the bed, the Joss & Main Celine 2-drawer nightstand introduces a modern twist with its clean lines and streamlined silhouette, providing practical storage without sacrificing style. On top of the nightstand, the AllModern Batavia ceramic table lamp in a sleek, contemporary design adds a modern touch and enhances the room’s transitional feel.

For overhead lighting, the Mercer41 Macosh 3-light textured glass bubble chandelier provides a glamorous focal point. Its textured glass bubbles and gold finish add elegance to balance the more casual elements in the room.

The Madison Park Anaheim woven plaid room-darkening thermal fleece-lined curtain panels bring a cozy, traditional touch. The plaid pattern offers a nod to classic design, while the room-darkening and thermal features add functionality, helping to control light and temperature.

On the floor, the Amber Lewis x Loloi Morgan Sunset Ink area rug grounds the space with its rich, warm colors and soft texture. The CloudPile technology makes the rug plush and luxurious underfoot, while the intricate pattern adds visual interest, blending traditional designs with modern tones.

Above the bed, the Idea4Wall vintage rural countryside landscape framed canvas print brings a rustic, countryside charm, tying the room together with its earthy colors and nostalgic scene.

Organic Modern

This style isn’t new, but it has taken a mainstream turn in recent years. What is organic modern style, you ask? It is an interesting mix of subtle moody colors and natural materials that create a simple and relaxed space. The broad curves of this style soften the lines of the other pieces in this space.

The Bernhardt Sawyer upholstered panel bed has simple, clean lines that reflect the modern side of the design. I like how the natural texture of the fabric introduces an organic element. For a touch of luxury, I add the deep green Joss & Main Stella solid faux silk velvet long lumbar pillows.

Flanking the bed with Joss & Main Element 1-drawer solid wood nightstands in natural wood offers a minimal, streamlined look with the warmth of natural wood. Atop the nightstands, the Joss & Main Corrina 29″ ash table lamp adds an organic touch. Splurge-worthing lighting can elevate an entire room.

On the floor, the Birch Lane Shenade geometric handmade stone area rug introduces texture with a simple geometric pattern.

In the corner, the Wade Logan Berken lamb wool upholstered teddy armchair is the epitome of organic modern style. It has soft curves and encourages relaxation.

Finishing the room is the  Vintage Forest Tree Sketch Rustic Countryside Landscape Picture Framed Canvas 3 Piece Print Wall Art and the Latitude Run Leeron oversized arch solid wood floor mirror. Not only does the mirror add a practical element but it also helps reflect light and make the space feel larger.

Modern Farmhouse/Industrial

While this isn’t generally my favorite interior design style, some elements are universal. For instance, this style frequently includes rustic and natural decor pieces that will look beautiful in an otherwise contemporary home. Having an eclectic collection of decor makes your home more interesting so if you find an unexpected piece you love, you can find a place for it.

rustic, industrial, and farmhouse bedroom style ideas

The Birch Lane Niles metal bed brings a vintage, farmhouse-inspired feel to the room and complements the Kelly Clarkson Home Giverny 3-drawer solid wood nightstand in a natural wood finish. The black Joss & Main Ceramic Table Lamp coordinates with the black metal bed and contrasts with the lighter elements.

Above the bed, the Idea4Wall rustic countryside misty forest framed canvas print creates a serene focal point and adds some moody tones.

The Three Posts polystone horse decorative sculpture brings an equestrian-inspired accent with its weathered finish and rustic design.

Grounding the space is the Chris Loves Julia x Loloi Humphrey contemporary area rug with forest green, beige, and pink tones. The bold plaid pattern makes the space more interesting and casual.

  1. Hi Stefana,
This article is very helpful. The rustic/industrial design is the one I like best. The link for the artwork is not directing me to the specific piece you selected. It only takes me to a page on Wayfair that includes numerous art pieces.
    I thought you should know.
