Sherwin-Williams Agreeable Gray
One of the most popular wall colors of the past few years, SW Agreeable Gray is a versatile warm gray that looks great just about anywhere. I used it for the majority of the main living area when we first moved in.
As you can see in the images above, lighting conditions can greatly affect how the color looks. The entryway in front of our home gets cool morning light while the kitchen and living room get warm afternoon light.
Behr Ultra Pure White
When you have a lot of wall space to cover, the price of paint becomes more of a factor. I added wall molding to the dining room, entryway, stairway, and upstairs hallway. Not only did I have to cover the new millwork, but I needed to cover all the walls and ceiling in these spaces too. For this large area I used Behr Ultra Pure White paint in five-gallon buckets.
Agreeable Gray was perfectly fine but the untinted white paint made these decorated walls look more sophisticated and timeless. The entryway is now bright and elegant in a way that a darker shade just won’t allow.
Sherwin-Williams Pure White
My contractor prefers to use Sherwin-Williams paints so I chose SW Pure White for the basement. Like most homes, there isn’t much natural light down here and the bright white paint gives it a light and airy feel.
Sherwin-Williams Black Magic
Traditionally, my taste in wall paint colors is on the lighter side. But for the basement media room, I made the bold decision to paint the walls and ceiling SW Black Magic. I love the dramatic look of the black paint and it gives this space a movie theater vibe.
Benjamin Moore Storm Cloud Gray
For my home office built-in cabinets and desk, I wanted to try something a little different. Grayish green paint colors were popular and BM Storm Cloud Gray was he best choice for my home. Sometimes it looks gray but it most often has just the right hint of green. This serene color looks rich with the brass hardware and patterned drapes!
Sherwin-Williams Accessible Beige
Alright, I’ll admit it…Accessible Beige is my favorite of all the paint colors in my home. Mushroom cabinets are having a moment. With no plans to alter my classic white kitchen, I knew I had to try it elsewhere.
The DIY IKEA PAX custom closet cabinets and primary bathroom vanity makeover projects were the perfect opportunity. Accessible Beige isn’t too brown or boring. It is the perfect balance between the cabinet hardware’s warm brass and the marble tiles‘ cool tones.
My mudroom and laundry room makeover was quite dramatic. Checkerboard floors, vertical shiplap, and neutral wallpaper gave this otherwise mundane space a serious glow-up. Since the shiplap went 2/3rds the way up the wall I painted the bathroom door too!
Remember my greenish-gray office? Well, I changed it to Accessible Beige at 75% strength. It’s more my style and I love how it looks with the rest of the elements in the room.
Sherwin-Williams Tricorn Black
A quick Google search will list the most popular choices for painting interior doors black. One of the top paint colors is always SW Tricorn Black. It doesn’t have noticeable undertones and is one of the truest black paints you can get. The black basement doors contrast with the white walls and tie in with the black media room.
Sherwin-Williams Hi-Hide White (Base Paint)
Anytime I paint built-in cabinets I use Urethane Enamel Trim paint for a smooth and durable finish. My love for bright white paint is no secret so it should come as no surprise that I chose an untinted white base paint for my living room fireplace wall built-ins.
Behr Light Granite
My boys shared a room for a while and this was the first space I tried my hand at vertical shiplap. Here I installed individual boards instead of panels like in the laundry room but used Behr Light Granite. This paint color adds a gentle hint of color to this space and lets the rest of the decor do the talking.
